The Spring Get-Together is one of the highlight events of the year for US Fulbright award recipients to Greece. It is one of the the few opportunities Fulbright grantees have to come together under the same roof and talk about their projects and enjoy a cultural and educational program that has been set up for the day.
This year's program took place at the Elliniki Etairia in Plaka, Athens on April 7th, 2016. US Fulbrighters had the chance to touch on their research and/or teaching responsibilities and get to know each other a bit better through casual talks and over some Greek food and a glass of wine. The Spring Get-Together was complemented by two wonderful speakers. The first speaker, Ms. Lydia Carras, co-founder of the Elliniki Etairia, presented on the work that is being done at the organization to preserve Greece's cultural heritage and the environment. The second speaker, Ms. Afroditi Veloudaki, a Greek Fulbright Alumna and Managing Director, Prolepsis Institute of Preventive Medicine Environmental and Occupational Health, spoke about “DIATROFI: a 5-year school program on food aid and promotion of healthy nutrition in Greece.”
