Over the years, Fulbright Greece has been fortunate to support a fair number of grantees in the fields of jazz music. Nefeli Fasouli is one of the young emerging singers of jazz and popular music in Greece who combines the tradition of African-American jazz with Greek folk music. Her Fulbright experience in New York was a pivotal moment in her career, in finding her own voice, providing impetus to creativiy, and gaining determination, and Nefeli came back refreshed and ready to perform with the Nefeli Fasouli Quintet in multiple concerts and festivals.
