Greece is increasingly becoming a favored academic destination for students from the United States offering a unique educational experience that combines academic excellence, cultural wealth, research opportunities, and affordability, which makes it an attractive destination for students from around the globe.

A number of articles have been written discussing Greece's appeal as an educational hub and the myriad opportunities it presents. A recent feature in the Kathimerini daily newspaper, titled "Why Study in Greece: Two U.S. Students Tell Us", sheds light on this trend. The article showcases the experiences of two U.S. Fulbright Students, Anya Howko-Johnson from Washington, DC, and Avery Hurst from Georgia, who are currently immersed in research in the fields of Public Policy and Nutrition, respectively. Both students shared their initial impressions of Greece, its delightful cuisine, beloved hangout spots, and breathtaking natural landscapes complemented by pleasant weather. Additionally, they offered insights into their research topics: Anya delves into the effects of climate change on migration flows, while Avery investigates the potential health benefits of seafood in combating obesity and metabolic disorders.

Greece in America Newsletter published by the Embassy of Greece in Washington, DC, presents the Fulbright Foundation Greece grantees and alumni who serve as cultural ambassadors, strengthening academic collaborations, and fostering the dialogue between Greece and the U.S.
For Anagha Ramakrishnan, who serves as an English Teaching Assistant, Greece has offered a unique opportunity to connect the past to the future and has helped her grow as a communicator. Konstantine Rountos’ research as a Fulbrighter focused on assessing the effects of fish farms on seagrass ecosystems. The Fulbright experience influenced his passion for providing experiential learning opportunities for his undergraduate students and for this reason he organized and led four study-abroad programs to Greece and Costa Rica. Finally, Rory Stuart, a New York-based jazz guitarist and composer, recently completed three months in Corfu, where he has worked with students at Ionian University through directing ensembles, teaching weekly guitar master classes and advanced rhythm clinics.
