On Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, 2016, Fulbright Foundation Greece with the support of The Hellenic Initiative, invited all alumni from the scholarship programs for Secondary School Educators - the Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI) program for Teachers and Administrators and the Greek Teachers Professional Development Program (2010), implemented by the George Mason University (GMU) - to Thessaloniki for a major Train the Trainers Meeting edition.
The meeting featured talks, interactive workshops, as well as informal sharing opportunities. Over a day and a half, the 16 SUSI and 11 GMU alumni who attended the program had the opportunity to present their Fulbright experience and share insights for making change happen on the ground.
In addition, two incoming US Scholars in the field of education, Professors Kendall Cotton Bronk and Melanie Shoffner, who are currently visiting at the University of Ioannina, Greece, and the Babes-Bolyai University, Romania, respectively, were invited as special guests to provide a theoretical background to current issues and topics.
The meeting was well-received and participants left having formed stronger bonds and eager to work toward implementing new ideas and projects in their teaching practice.
