“I kept hearing that a Fulbright grant opens doors. I'd say a Fulbright grant actually creates doors. It forges pathways, where there seem to be only walls”.

Graffiti is a form of expression that can familiarize us with the space and the city we live in. Μaria is an artist and she is doing her PhD on Graffiti art, in the Athens School of Fine Arts. In order to better understand this form of expression she wanted to study the graffiti art in its birthplace, New York. There she could encounter it in the actual city, she could document it herself and finally she had the opportunity to meet with graffiti pioneers.
